A performative reading of Wiera will be held at the Zbigniew Raszewski Theater Institute on January 29 at 5 pm and 8 pm.
The play by Agata Tuszyńska and Jerzy Żurek, tells the story of Wiera Gran – a singer, actress of Jewish origin, born in Russia as Dwojra Grynberg. Wiera sang in Polish and French. The muse of the Warsaw ghetto. She survived the occupation as the only one of her family. Until the end of her life, she fended off accusations that her exit from the ghetto was paid for by collaboration with the Gestapo.
