AGNIESZKA HOLLAND with honorary doctorate degree from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin | 02.12.2024

Film and theater director and screenwriter AGNIESZKA HOLLAND was recognized “for seeking the truth and posing inconvenient questions, for showing in films the ambiguity of the world, revealing complex human relationships and emotions.” The Senate’s resolution states that the title of honorary doctorate of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University is awarded to the director also for “combining the poetics and art of filmmaking with an uncompromising civic attitude, for the courage to speak with a full voice about difficult issues, for sensitivity to other people and restoring their dignity, for wisdom and remaining in constant creative movement.”
