Beginning September 17, a new production of Polish Television’s “Dewajtis” went to air – a costume series starring MAŁGORZATA PIECZYŃSKA as Olga Czertwanowa and GRAŻYNA BARSZCZEWSKA as Janiszewska.
“In seven episodes of the series about love, honor and family, the fates of a parochial court community whose lives were changed by the January Uprising are intertwined. (…) The heroes’ ideals are put to a severe test, and their desires come into conflict with the duties imposed by the family. Fortunately, over everything a soothing shadow is cast by the title Dewajtis, an ancient oak tree, which becomes for the characters a kind of escape from the hardships of life and a majestic symbol of intergenerational togetherness.”
The episodes are broadcast every Sunday at 8:20 pm on TVP1
