Revival of the opera “Ślepy tor” with set design by JAGNA JANICKA. | 10.10.2024
This weekend the Grand Theater – National Opera will stage a revival of Krzysztof Meyer’s opera Ślepy tor with libretto by Antoni Libera.
The show’s set design is by JAGNA JANICKA.

“Here we are at a small station in the fictional principality of Alpos – in the very center of Europe – which is located near the great transportation routes between the main metropolises of the continent. Passengers traveling in different directions meet here. However, they must first get to Bern, where the big international expresses stop.
The railroad’s notorious lack of punctuality puts passengers in danger of being late for their transfer in Bern. However, they are unexpectedly saved from their predicament by Suicide, who has handcuffed himself to the tracks. For the stationmaster, in order to save him and at the same time avoid a catastrophe, has to make an emergency stop to the international express, and this allows everyone to illegally board it.”
