WOJTEK SMARZOWSKI returns to the Television Theater. | 15.05.2025
The premiere of the play Winny, directed by WOJTEK SMARZOWSKI, will air on TVP1 on May 19 at 8:30 pm.
The play is an adaptation of the text of the monodrama written by Stanislaw Brejdygant, which had its theatrical premiere on June 8, 2018 at the Polonia Theater in Warsaw.
Bartek Sowinski, the main character of Winny after years of carrying a monstrous secret, forced the prosecutor’s office to convict him of a murder committed during World War II. He killed two people close to him – Jews whom he hid in his home from the Germans. Why did he do this? Why did a man with a noble conscience commit such a cruel crime?
